PCF Inc. Meeting Summary


Summary of Pūhoi Community Forum meeting held on 28 July, 2026

General business

  1. Wharf signage needs to be cleaned and upgraded. Interpretive signage could include identification of significant trees. 

  2. Investigate reinstating the bridle path along Krippner Rd. 

  3. Sports club investigating a fundraising fun series of events in February involving community groups. 

  4. Need to clarify the western boundaries of RRE. 

  5. The Council licence renewal process should start as soon as possible. 

  6. Discussion regarding responsibilities for the monitoring of the poplar trees in the community orchard. 

Working & Community Group Updates:

  • Village market Good attendance over past months , some new stalls, new layout in hall worked well. In process of applying for a container to be placed in orchard for storage 

  • Heritage museum Possibility of heritage trail, to include whares in style of those  that housed the settlers on arrival 

  • Puhoi Hall New committee members and chairperson is Fran Endemann, 

  • Library   

  • Community orchard   Wassail well attended 

  • Memorial  park ( River Park) Recent  plantings have gone well  Further one on Sept 11. (Toyota) Discussion on ways to promote  the scope of planting, weeding and pest control so community is aware. Perhaps blackboards at entrance? Example given of Dairy Flat.

  • Volunteer Fire Brigade  Motorway incidents, training, smoke alarm installations. Three new recruits and new appliance drivers. Siren will move from Russel’s garage. New location not yet selected. 

  • Puhoi Emergency group Regional hui this Sunday 

  • Playgroup 

  • Road safety group Met this week with AT, RLB and AC today for overview of future safety and transport plan. 

  • Weedbusters Kauri Dieback workshop attended by volunteers, RM plan in progress.

  • Waiwera Valley Association 

  • Sports Club  Wild  West casino night Aug 15, canapes  and cocktails. Downstairs has been garage carpeted and is quieter  and warmer. Possible venue for table tennis. Next project is to improve downstairs kitchenette. 

  • Scouts  Three scouts going  to Mystery Creek. Fundraising underway including  at market. Scouts now have a crown cutter. It needs storage and is being refurbished
