Our very own volunteer Fire Brigade was established by Russell Green in 2006 as a Rural Brigade and initially housed on Russel Green's business premises opposite the Puhoi Pub.

After eight years of planning, fundraising and construction the dedicated Fire Station was opened in 2017, coinciding with the amalgamation of Fire and Emergency NZ, which Puhoi is now a part of.  The Brigade has one appliance and one smoke chaser and attends between 80-100 callouts annually. The Brigade is run by volunteers, and is always happy to have new recruits. Training is on Monday nights, contact details below.
